"A man told police he shot his ex-girlfriend because she gave him HIV. That woman
later died in the hospital.
According to Hollywood Police, Anton Jamar Josey kidnapped 23-year-old Dominque
Duval from her job in Fort Lauderdale armed with a gun at about 11 p.m. Witnesses
said they heard Duval screaming and being dragged by Josey into a Mercedes-Benz.
Police caught up with Josey at a local gas station, pulling his car over for speeding.
"The detectives attempted to stop that vehicle when it turned into the Shell Gas
Station at 2801 Pembroke Road," said Hollywood Police Lieutenant Manny Marino.
"When the vehicle came to a stop, however, a female exited the passenger side of
the vehicle, ran back towards the detectives' direction. She was apparently holding
her neck, had some type of injury. The detectives obviously approached the vehicle.
The driver also exited, and at some point, made a statement as to shooting the
